I havent been around to update my website much, and I apologize for that. Truth is, when I was going to update I got real sick with a severe head cold. I couldnt sit down and write up a commentary, never-mind standing up at all. Im finally back, and hopefully things will be regularly updated. I dont even know where to begin right now. I guess what I can say is the WFA events went awesome as planned, as well as NECW events. NECW television tapings are going on as a regular basis, and I believe NECW TV will be improving on many levels in the coming times. Northeast Championship Wrestling has had two events since my last commentary. It was great to see, and work with some old faces. The second event was questionable to even take place due to another promotion threatening talent, and even talking about sending the RI Athletics Commission to shut down the event. This can be read on the NCW website, under columns written by Bud "The Man" Shurwalter. Be sure to check it out as it is a good read. It was an interesting night as we saw a few guys from Wisconsin get involved with the Big City Rumble. Last nights NECW event in Framingham, MA had some hot moments as Brutal Bob Evans was seemingly defeated by The Pinnacle Paul Lombardi. As the stipulations were written, if Lombardi is successful at defeating Brutal Bob, that would mean we would see Brutal Bob Evans retiring from professional wrestling. We even saw a video tribute for Bob, however Crusher Sonny Goodspeed had the referee Rich Bass look at the footage, and the match was therefore restarted, where as Brutal Bob Evans pulled off a victory. Brutal Bob Evans, isnt retiring anytime soon folks. In the main event, Revolution Chris Venom battled Powerhouse Kevin Landry in a no-dq, falls count anywhere for the NECW Heavyweight Championship match. This match went all over the Framingham Civic League, including the balcony with both men trying to throw the other over the edge to the Civic League floor. Pin fall attempts to the outside, chairs being used, each man tried their best to take the other man out. In the end, Revolution Chris Venom finished Kevin Landry off with a flying elbow off the top rope with the NECW Championship Belt for the win. Be sure to check out some great events coming this weekend. First, Thursday night in Somerville at the Good Time Emporium, youll see NECW action with a six man tag team match in the main event. Friday Night in Dover, the WFA will be having a tournament for the vacated WFA Heavyweight Championship. Saturday, Slamtech Wrestling will be having an event for its ready to go students, graduates, and associates, in the afternoon at the Congregational Church Hall. Following that evening, NECW will be having an awesome event. To let you in on the deal, you can see BOTH events for a low cost of $15. Check out the official NECW website for further information. Now that I got those out of the way, I figured I should talk about this strange beer I tried out not too long ago. I was just beer browsing and my attention was captivated by its original design, and how it was smaller than the usual beer can. So what was this? Budweiser Extra. Now Im usually not a Budweiser kind of person, but this was just too interesting to not try out. The label said Beer with caffeine, ginseng, guarana extract, and natural flavor. When it came time to trying this beer out, first thing I did was smell the drink. It smelled like a red bull, or something like that. If you smelled it without seeing it, you would never guess it was a beer. Then of course I decided to pour some into a glass to see if any colors were different. Nope color was the same old golden color like any beer in the world. Finally, I drank it. What did it taste like? Pretty much it tasted like someone put red bull in my beer. It was an interesting taste, but I feel Im better off with a regular beer.
Well everyone, thats it for now! Dan Tanaka |
